"Mediterraneo" poem from Eugenio Montale

Come allora oggi in tua presenza impietro,
mare, ma non piú degno
mi credo del solenne ammonimento
del tuo respiro. Tu m'hai detto primo
che il piccino fermento
del mio cuore non era che un momento
del tuo; che mi era in fondo
la tua legge rischiosa: esser vasto e diverso
e insieme fisso:e svuotarmi cosí d'ogni lordura
come tu fai che sbatti sulle sponde
tra sugheri alghe asterie
le inutili macerie del tuo abisso.

The Stromboli volcano (Sicily, Italy) is in eruption. Splendid spectacle from the sea!

Hi Melissa, in April i'm going to South Italy from South France with my boat 7,90m. At now we are two, i need one more person, like crew that i can't pay. I'm doing the selection, write me about your intentions. You only speak German?

Hello med sea members,

I am posting this comment to ask about becoming a crew member for a short trip. I have no experience in the floatplan world and wondering how to navigate it.

I am a hard worker and born traveler. I taught sailing, but... It was at a summer camp and with sunfish boats so I'm thinking it doesn't qualify as experience!! Hah! I also am an island person - lived on St. John (for only a month), and visited the canaries, surfed at ricon pr. To sum it up-I am a water lover and strong swimmer.

I work 12+ hour days because I love putting my all into things. I want to go on a sailing trip and learn along the way.

Does anyone in this group have some advise on finding a good crew/boat match, what to expect, etc?

Many thanks

If you have used Float Plan to find a boat or a crew member, or had a good experience using the website, being part of the community or you just love what we are trying to do (make sailing accessible to everyone), I would really appreciate a quick note that I could use as a testimonial on the new website. Thank you, Andrew
