Hi. I am a people person and fit in well with others. I am fit ( completed many triathlons and been up the mast a few times), knowledgeable, safe and competent and like to bring cheerfulness to the boat. looking for an opportunity to crew on a boat either making a very long ocean crossing, sailing in blue waters, island hopping,Europe, the Caribbean or Australia. My sailing experience is one 700 mile trip circumventing Vancouver Island years ago. 2015: I took 2 weeks of lessons in lasers, crewed in 20 races in keel boats 28 to 33 feet. 2016: I raced in over 40 races, 5 regattas on 5 different boats and took the 2 day World Sailing "Safety at Sea course" and completed a 10 week "Advanced Navigation course with the Canadian Power Squadron in British Columbia." Winter 2017 I went to San Diego and raced in 24 individual races on 5 different boats up to 44 feet, 13 Off Shore and 2 were in the dark of night in 5 Regattas. Also took a full day course on Understanding the Racing Rules of Sailing in L.A. and the same presentation in San Diego. Also attended a 3 hour course on "Sailing the Coast at Night." and a 2 day course on GPS Navigation by the U.S. Coast Guard." I have never been sea sick or felt that way. I am a good cook and eat any food, licensed mechanic and have a great skill of making innovative repairs. Also enjoy fishing and have tackle. I have Off Shore foul weather gear, an ISAF Off Shore inflatable PFD with double reach teather, the latest Garmin GPS and and hand held marine radio.
Personal survival at Sea course,Good cook, Good mechanic (licensed), ability to know when something needs attention. Although competitive in racing I am easy going and go with the flow.
If you have used Float Plan to find a boat or a crew member, or had a good experience using the website, being part of the community or you just love what we are trying to do (make sailing accessible to everyone), I would really appreciate a quick note that I could use as a testimonial on the new website. Thank you, Andrew
