Born and bred in Bordeaux, South West France, I started sailing at the age of 12 and developed a passion for the art of gliding on the water from the very first day. A few years later I had become a sailing club in house instructor and the master plan was to sail the world on my own boat; there was no turning back. The only missing ingredient was money which led to a little soul searching that pointed to a lack of criminal genes; I would have to work for it! So I left my otherwise pretty country of birth in 1979 for a career that took me across 5 continents and enough adventures to write a book or two that have yet to materialize. By 2005 it was time to make it happens, I regained my freedom from the corporate world, purchased Charisma, went through a major refit in Phuket and went sailing and have been since. It took 10 years to explore part of Asia I had not seen before while extending my stay wherever it was nice and pleasant. The Pacific Ocean has proven to be fascinating in terms of discovery both above and below the water line, so I am likely to keep on exploring that vast ocean for the few years to come.
